Blue Hawaii party kicks off the Surf Camp Season

The Blue Hawaii party at Scubar was an epic celebration to welcome the start of the Surf Camp Season. Fellow partygoers were living it up in their bluest as they walked down the blue carpet and got a quick lei at the door

The Surf Doctors kept the crowd pumped with loads of prizes to be won. Two lucky winners each received a surf board after a back-bending session of surfboard limbo.

Surf Camp would like to thank everyone that joined us on the night. For those that missed out, there’ll be plenty of other Surf Camp parties going on throughout the season. Be sure to join us at Scubar every Thursday night and keep an eye on the blog for other Surf Camp events.

Our large group of keen surfers had an amazing time taking on the waves during the week. Everyone stood up on their boards within the first day. Those staying on the 4 day Camp got the chance to develop their new surfing skills with some more challenging waves.

Surfâ€™s Up is the years biggest animated action-comedy that goes behind the scenes of the high-octane world of competitive surfing penguins! The film profiles teenage Rockhopper penguin Cody Maverick (Shia LaBeouf), an up-and-coming surfer, as he enters his first pro competition. Followed by a camera crew to document his experiences, Cody leaves his family and home in Shiverpool, Antarctica to travel to Pen Gu Island for the Big Z Memorial Surf Off. Along the way, Cody meets surf nut Chicken Joe (Jon Heder), famous surf promoter Reggie Belafonte (James Woods), surf talent scout Mikey Abromowitz (Mario Cantone), and spirited lifeguard Lani Aliikai (Zooey Deschanel), all of whom recognize Codyâ€™s passion for surfing, even if itâ€™s a bit misguided at times. Cody believes that winning will bring him the admiration and respect he desires, but when he unexpectedly comes face-to-face with a washed-up old surfer (Jeff Bridges), Cody begins to find his own way, and discovers that a true winner isnâ€™t always the one who comes in first.

Feedback from our first Weekend Surf Camp

Our first weekend camp was a blast. We had a sell out camp, including a bunch of American students keen to hit the Aussie waters.

Here is some feedback from the weekend:
